Project Description
The Hyundai Electric Vehicle Plant is currently in progress. Faber by Kalisch was contracted to install 1,300,000 square feet of 1.5B Roof Deck 18 GA Galvanized Primed Grade 37 (519,750 square feet) and 2.5 Composite Deck 18 GA Galvanized Primed Grade 37 (752,850 square feet) at Savannah, Georgia.
The 1.5B Roof Deck is a structural steel roof deck system that is designed to provide superior strength and durability. It is made from 18 gauge galvanized steel and is pre-primed with a rust-resistant coating. This solution will be used on the roof specifically. The 2.5 Composite Deck is a lightweight and durable deck system that is also pre-primed with a rust-resistant coating, will be used to give support to the mezzanine inside the building. These types of steel decks follow all the safety and quality guidelines established by the Steel Deck Institute (SDI).
